GLØD Aurora Canvas Dome
Glamping, done properly. A strong canvas shell on an aluminium frame, with insulating air between the outer and inner layers. The north-facing wall and much of the roof are transparent, so it feels like sleeping outside. From late August to early April you might see the Northern Lights from your bed.
The domes, the large lavvu, the Single-Track bar and the outdoor kitchen are linked by raised walkways. All power is 100% renewable hydro power from the Alta River.

- Underfloor heating, a heat pump and a large wood-burning stove. Electricity, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning in summer.
- A king-size Wonderland bed
- It can be split into two 90 × 200 cm beds. Plus a table, two chairs, a clothes stand and a drying rack for wet gear.
- Your own toilet
- A small toilet room with a washbasin is built onto each dome. The shower and sauna are in the GLØD building about 50 m away.
- Breakfast included
- Freshly baked rolls, local and often homemade toppings, juice, milk and fresh coffee, served in the GLØD lounge.
GLØD Boutique Apartment
For families and anyone who would rather have the quiet of the pine forest than the city centre. Life slows down here. The apartment sits beside the domes and GLØD HQ.

- A loft bedroom for four with lower ceiling height and a steep stair, and a sofa bed for two in the living room.
- Kitchen and sauna
- Oven, microwave, dishwasher and everything else for self-catering. The bathroom has a shower, sauna, washing machine and hairdryer.
- TV and free Wi-Fi
- The closest supermarket is 3 km away. We can help arrange transport.

A set menu every night in the GLØD lounge, with fresh cod, halibut, salmon, moose, lamb, reindeer and king crab. Book it when you book your stay. About our kitchen
Forest, river, trails
Walk the pine forest and the mountains behind, ride the MTB and fatbike trails, or stroll along the Alta River. Forebygninga, one of the river’s best salmon spots, is 200 m away.
Getting here
Taxi is easiest. With the TaxiFix app you can book in advance. We are at Jordfallet in Øvre Alta, about 5 km from downtown.
